On May 23rd, the first working conference on the revision and compilation of the national standard "Code for Design of Strengthening Concrete Structure" was held at Sichuan Academy of Building Sciences Co., Ltd. Leaders from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Housing and Urban Rural Development, relevant departments of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, and the Standardization Committee attended the meeting and delivered speeches. At the meeting, the preparation team conducted in-depth discussions on the draft of the standard revision outline and core technical issues, and clarified the follow-up work schedule and task division. According to the results of the first national comprehensive natural disaster risk survey, there are about 354 million urban and rural houses in China, with an area of over 120 billion square meters. A large number of existing buildings are facing problems such as expiration of service life, failure to meet performance standards, accumulation of natural disaster damage, and insufficient management and maintenance, and the demand for maintenance and reinforcement is becoming increasingly urgent. The first edition of the national standard "Code for Design of Strengthening Concrete Structure" was implemented in November 2006, and the second edition "Code for Design of Concrete Structure Reinforcement" GB50367-2013 was released on November 1, 2013 and implemented on June 1, 2014. The technical content of the standard is reasonable and highly operable. The implementation of the standard provides technical support for the reinforcement design of concrete structures and plays an important role in the reinforcement and renovation projects of concrete structures in China. In recent years, the mandatory engineering standards "General Specification for Appraisal and Reinforcement of Existing Buildings" and "General Specification for Concrete Structures" have been released and implemented, and the "Design Standard for Concrete Structures (2024 Edition)" has also been revised. It is necessary to optimize this standard simultaneously to achieve matching connection.

They have a profound theoretical foundation and rich engineering practice experience, and have deeply participated in standardization reform work, laying a solid foundation for standard revision.
